Job description

#1 Recruitment Firm Servicing the Glass & Glazing Industry

Job Title: Inside Sales Estimator
Location: On-site, Dallas, TX
Job Type: Full-Time

We have partnered with one of the nation’s top interior glass contractors, known for high-quality craftsmanship and long-standing relationships with leading GCs, designers, and corporate clients. This firm specializes in interior glass scopes including demountable systems, office fronts, architectural glass walls, mirrors, shower systems, and specialty interior applications.

Amid steady growth in the Dallas market, they are seeking a Mid-Level Interior Glass Estimator to support their interiors division. This is a strong opportunity for a candidate with field experience and a growing preconstruction skillset to step into a high-impact estimating role with long-term advancement potential.

Position Overview

The Interior Glass Estimator will manage the full estimating cycle for small to mid-sized interior glass projects and assist senior estimators on larger, more complex bids. This role requires an individual who can review plans, perform accurate takeoffs, build detailed cost proposals, and communicate confidently with GCs, vendors, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of field experience and estimating/preconstruction exposure, with strong knowledge of interior systems and the ability to run bids semi-independently from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

Bid Management & Scope Development

  • Take ownership of assigned bid opportunities from invitation through proposal submission.
  • Perform detailed plan and specification reviews, identifying clarifications, exclusions, and alternates.
  • Conduct material and system takeoffs for:
    • Demountable & stick-built systems
    • Interior storefronts and office fronts
    • Mirrors, shower enclosures, interior rails/guards
    • Specialty glass, back-painted glass, feature walls
  • Develop clear written scopes of work aligned with GC/owner requirements.

Estimating & Value Engineering

  • Build complete material and labor estimates, including glass types, hardware, substrates, labor hours, crew/equipment needs, and mobilization.
  • Offer value‑engineering solutions that maintain design intent while improving cost or constructibility.
  • Prepare proposal letters, breakouts, and detailed pricing packages as needed.

Vendor & Client Coordination

  • Solicit, compare, and confirm vendor/fabricator quotes for glass, hardware, and specialty systems.
  • Verify lead times, minimums, logistics, and potential cost impacts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with GCs, vendors, suppliers, internal PMs, and field leadership.

Risk Management & Handoff

  • Identify project risks related to schedule, access, field conditions, and trade coordination.
  • Lead internal handoff meetings for awarded projects, providing takeoff summaries, backup pricing, vendor quotes, and scope details.
  • Track hit rates, job margins, and lessons learned to help improve estimating strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 3–7 years combined experience in interior glass & glazing.
  • At least 2+ years in the field and 2+ years in estimating, PM, or preconstruction.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret architectural/interior design drawings.
  • Solid understanding of interior glass systems, hardware, tolerances, and field challenges.
  • Experience bidding interior finish-out projects (office, healthcare, hospitality, retail, multifamily amenities).
  • Proficiency with PDF markup/takeoff tools (Bluebeam or similar) and Excel/Sheets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with estimating software (Bidtracer, PlanSwift, Stack, or similar). (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with fire-rated or acoustic glass and specialty systems. (Preferred)
  • Experience in design‑assist or early-stage preconstruction collaboration. (Preferred)
Benefits

Competitive Compensation + 3 profit‑sharing bonuses per year (based on company profitability), plus health insurance after 30 days, optional employee-paid dental, PTO, and holidays.
