Position Description: Volaโ€™s Dockside Grill, a hidden gem on Alexandriaโ€™s riverfront, offers stunning, unobstructed views of the Potomac River. Our all-day menu features stylishly crafted dishes, including daily selections of market oysters, fresh seafood, and comforting, feel-good dishes highlighting regional ingredients. As a server, you will be engaging and attentive to guests while providing timely service, quality food and beverages, and ensuring every guest leaves having had an extraordinary experience.Alexandria Restaurant Partners locations include Adaโ€™s on the River, Barca Pier & Wine Bar, Cafรฉ Tu Tu Tango, Miaโ€™s Italian Kitchen, Palette 22, Theismannโ€™s, The Royal, and Volaโ€™s Dockside Grill & Hi-Tide Lounge. Position Responsibilities: Provide a superior guest experience by delivering timely service, quality food and beverages, and ensuring every guest leaves satisfied.Be knowledgeable of food and beverage menus. Accurately and confidently answer guestsโ€™ questions.Accurately take orders and ring them into the POS.Maintain clean and regularly maintained tables throughout service. Clean as you work in and around service stations and other work areas.Assist in building and maintaining a team-oriented workplace by bringing a positive, consistent work ethic and participation level to each shift. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Qualifications - Previous experience is preferred but not required.Communicates effectively.Works well under pressure and is self-motivated.High-level organizational, time management, and sales skills.Dependable, reliable, and self-driven.High level of awareness, attention to detail, and follow-through.High-level multi-tasking abilities.Able to perform at a high-level during volume and pressure situations.Must speak and understand English. Physical Requirements: Able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.Able to grasp, lift, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.Able to withstand changes in temperature, occasional smoke, steam, and heat.Able to work in a confined area.Must possess hearing, visual, and sensory abilities to observe and detect emergencies; and to distinguish product, taste, texture, temperature, presentation, and preparation.Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide at a basic level.
