Job Title: Assistant Floor Supervisor

Supervisor: Floor Supervisor

Department: Cut & Sew

FLSA Status: Hourly

Summary: Coordinate and monitor the efficient and timely scheduling and completion of production. Report directly to the Floor Supervisor with scheduling and production conflicts and with recommendations for problem solving.


Essential Duties

  1. Supervise employees to ensure that all production items are manufactured to specified quality standards.
  2. Report production supply, equipment, and manpower needs to Floor Supervisor and in their absence to Manufacturing Manager.
  3. Monitor quality to ensure product is of acceptable quality at all times. Ensure through 1st hour inspection with Quality Control that all jobs are set-up accurately.
  4. Monitor production of all employees.
  5. Assist the VP of Manufacturing, Director of Manufacturing, Manufacturing Manager, and Floor Supervisor with new product development.
  6. Input maintenance required in Asset Essentials.
  7. Communicate with the Cutting Room Supervisor and Assistant Floor Supervisors with regards to production to ensure efficient production flow.
  8. Maintain open communication between all Assistant Supervisors and Floor Supervisor.
  9. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly facility in compliance with OSHA requirements and any safety committee regulations.
  10. Responsible for overseeing all accidents and injuries are reported and resolutions and paperwork are completed timely.
  11. Responsible for performance evaluations on employees and reveiw them with the Manufacturing Manager. Then submitting through current software.
  12. Learn all machines and operations in the sewing area.
  13. Verify quality and speed of new & established Operators.
  14. Give direct one-on-one training to new hires and existing employees to increase efficiency and quality.
  15. Maintain training documents on new and existing employees.
  16. Ensure the training documentation is recorded proficiently and reported timely to Production Administrator.
  17. Monitor all new and existing employees efficiencies, and quality of work keeping Floor Supervisor informed.
  18. Check work instructions on all machines weekly.
  19. Ensure Agency attendance policy is followed.

20. Duties may need to be separated between Assistant Floor Supervisors, when more than one is on the floor.

21. Ensure Production meeting takes place once weekly, making sure to include Manufacturing Manager in weekly plans.

22. Provide assistance during annual inventories.

23. All other duties deemed necessary.

24. May be required to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and if required lift up to 100 pounds with assistance.

25. Additional hours if needed are mandatory.

Qualifications:

Education and or Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience in needle trades manufacturing processes required. Previous experience in supervisory and leadership roles preferred.
