JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: International Flight Clearance Trainer

Department: International Flight Clearance

Reports To: Manager, International Flight Clearance


SUMMARY:

The International Flight Clearance Trainer is responsible for supervising and training the International Flight Clearance Coordinators at the direction of the Manager of International Flight Clearance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintaining and executing a training program for the International Flight Clearance Coordinators and Ops Assistants, maintaining training records, and performing quality assurance audits to evaluate effectiveness of training and determining where the training program may be enhanced.

- Manning the International Flight Clearance Coordinator desk when staffing dictates.

- Ensuring the accuracy and validity of permit information provided by the International Flight Clearance Coordinators.

- Maintaining a Handbook for both the International Flight Clearance Coordinator and Operations Assistant Positions.

- Assisting the Manager of International Flight Clearance in maintaining route databases and establishing instructions for easy use of saved routes by both the Flight Followers and International Flight Clearance Coordinators.

- Assisting the Manager of International Flight Clearance in requesting and maintaining our various Foreign Operating Permits, Seasonal approvals and slot database.

- Assisting the Manager of International Flight Clearance in maintaining the flow of accurate information to and from the flight following department

- Assisting the Manager of International Flight Clearance in other duties as assigned as duties may change

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The International Flight Clearance Trainer is responsible for supervision of both the International Flight Clearance Coordinators and Operations Assistants, the quality of their work, and the implementation of training at the direction of the Manager of International Flight Clearance.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable. Must have excellent professional knowledge of world geography, civilian and diplomatic permit clearance issues, and flight operations. Experience in a flight dispatch center is preferred. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, multi-tasking and stress management skills required. Must have ability to work well with others in a supervisory capacity. Must have extensive experience as a permit coordinator or equivalent. Supervisory experience desirable, but not required. FAA Dispatcher’s license desirable, but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to convert between different units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
