Fireworks Sales Associate

**Note: This position will be a temporary position to staff the 4th of July Holiday and will include both set up and close out. If you are interested and will be available during that timeframe, please apply today as we are reviewing applications now.**

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Grade(s): 4 ($18.98+/Hour DOE)

Reports To: BEDD Director

Purpose: The Fireworks Sales Associate is responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with sales, stocking inventory, and ensuring all fireworks sales are conducted safely and in compliance with Alaska state and local regulations. This position requires a friendly, responsible, and safety-conscious individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Essential Functions. An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation:

· Greet customers and provide knowledgeable assistance about fireworks products, safety, and usage.

· Operate the cash register, process payments, and maintain accurate sales records.

· Restock shelves, organize displays, and maintain a clean and orderly sales area.

· Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock items to the supervisor.

· Follow all federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations related to fireworks sales and handling.

· Assist with setup and takedown of the fireworks stand or sales tent.

· Ensure that all safety and fire prevention equipment is in place and functional.

· Provide friendly and efficient service, ensuring a positive customer experience.

· Support other team members and perform other duties as assigned.



Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

· Prior retail, cashiering, or customer service experience preferred

· Ability to operate a forklift and hydraulic jack a plus


Physical Requirements. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation:

· Seasonal, outdoor work environment; may involve exposure to weather conditions such as snow, rain, wind, and sun.

· May be required to lift up to 40 lbs.

· Standing for long periods and handling fireworks products safely.
