Job description

Position: Assistant Financial Analyst
Reports to: Project Controls Manager
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Pay Range: $60,000 - $65,000
We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.
Superior is looking for an Assistant Financial Analyst who will support Project Operations and finance teams through cost tracking, budget analysis, and financial reporting. The Assistant Financial Analyst focuses on monitoring project costs, analyzing budget variances, assisting with monthly projections, and supporting job closeout processes to help ensure financial accuracy and project success. The Assistant Financial Analyst will also identify cost-saving opportunities, assist with project audits, and provide reporting support to cross-functional teams. This role is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze project costs and track budget variances
  • Assist in preparing monthly cost projection templates with project managers
  • Audit new project setup within the accounting system
  • Monitor the monthly job closeout process
  • Assist in identifying cost saving opportunities and process improvements
  • Support Project Operations and Field Operations teams with financial reporting and other ad hoc requests
  • Provide guidance and support to finance interns as needed

Your Expertise
  • Required: You have earned your bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Required: You have at least 1 year of experience or an internship completed in project/operations finance, FP&A or a related field
  • Bonus Points: You are familiar with Finance or Project Management/Project Operations in the construction industry
  • Bonus Points: You have experience building financial models in Excel and using Power BI or other data visualization and analytics tools
