Job Summary
The Department of Business at Concord University invites applications for a tenure-track position in finance at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, effective August 2026.
Concord University prides itself on a 150-year tradition of preparing students to enter the workforce or continue their education through graduate studies. We are seeking highly qualified individuals to join our faculty, who can apply their education and work experience to instruction that will enrich our students, further Concord's commitment to programs of excellence, and reinforce CU's mission to serve the region.
This is a full-time, 9-month tenure-track faculty position that supports the departments' two degree programs. The Department of Business offers an undergraduate degree program with concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, Management, Marketing, and Sport Management. The Department also offers a 30-hour MBA program, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management.
At this time, the Department of Business will not provide H1B visa or employment sponsorship.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duty/Responsibility
Faculty members assume an active and collegial role in the planning and governance of the Department's activities and expectations. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Teaching a variety of undergraduate finance and related business courses (e.g. corporate finance, investments, personal finance, quantitative courses), along with a graduate class in finance with a 4/4 teaching load.
  • Advising and mentoring students, participating in curriculum review and development, assessing and reporting of student learning, and reporting activities for program and university accreditation.
  • Conducting scholarly research and being involved in the professional academic community..
  • Participating in service activities, which include serving on university and departmental committees, as well as service to the broader University community.

  • Ph.D. in finance or related area or a DBA with a finance emphasis preferably from a regionally accredited institution. Individuals with a solid research background who are ABD at the final stage of completion of the dissertation may be considered.
  • MBA business or other related master's degree with substantial profession experience, may be considered for a non-tenure track position.

Required Skills
  • Demonstrate teaching competency and have a strong commitment to, and understanding of, the role of undergraduate and graduate business education.
  • Demonstrate evidence of excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Provide evidence of interest in programmatic research and/or a prior record of publishing as we require and support faculty research productivity
  • Understand the development of new course offerings in their disciple to support the department's undergraduate and graduate programs.
