Salary: $28.00 to $33.00

Position Summary

The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the financial health and integrity of the organization. This role supports the mission by ensuring accurate financial reporting, stewardship of funds, and compliance with nonprofit and faith-based financial standards.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash flow
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Assist in developing annual budgets aligned with ministry goals
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
  • Prepare financial reports for leadership, board members, and donors

Compliance & Accountability

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state (Alaska), and local regulations
  • Support annual audits and grant reporting requirements
  • Maintain proper internal controls and financial policies

Donor & Grant Management

  • Track donations, tithes, and grants accurately
  • Provide contribution statements to donors
  • Ensure restricted funds are used appropriately

Faith-Based Stewardship

  • Uphold and model the organizations mission, values, and ethical standards
  • Ensure financial practices reflect integrity, transparency, and accountability

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
