Job description

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for various daily accounting duties within our fast-paced department. These will range from billing to accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
The Accounting Clerk's daily tasks are detailed, high-volume, deadline-based work. They will need strong analytical skills, to ensure accurate and timely results. Opportunity for growth over time.
This role does not assign work, issue jobs, manage labor, or direct other employees.
This position reports to the Assistant Controller.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with various members of the accounting department to complete daily routines
  • Participate in daily reconciliations
  • Provide accurate deadline driven work
  • Maintain files for accounts receivable, billing and accounts payable
  • Assist with accounts receivable and the application of customer payments
  • Review bills for accuracy and proper coding
  • Assist with the organization of paperwork
  • Speak to clients about payments, refunds, and statements
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • 2+ years proven experience working within an accounting department
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, a plus
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or any other related field, preferred
  • Motivated to learn and take on new challenges and base level work at the same time
  • Ability to work fast and efficiently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
