Job Summary:

This position shall report to the Associate Dean of Allied Health Division. This position will work directly under the PTA Program Department Chair/Director per special accreditation standards. This position shall provide instruction in the PTA program and PPSC courses as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4,000 hours of verified occupational experience in the content area OR three (3) years of verified teaching experience in the content area (PPSC Policy).
• A minimum of three (3) years of full-time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical practice (PPSC Policy).
• Licensed PT or PTA with corresponding entry-level degree.
• At least one (1) year of teaching experience, either full or part-time, in a Physical Therapy or Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
• At least three (3) years of experience working with a variety of patients in inpatient or outpatient settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

Duties & Responsibilities:

Regular Faculty work under the direction of their respective Associate Dean/Division Dean and are responsible for meeting all scheduled classes/labs/clinics and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the College and the Department Chair's approved course outline. Regular Faculty are also responsible for using teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the objectives of the course.
Regular Faculty are required to serve a provisional period from the date of employment until the completion of employment under three consecutive full year regular contracts. 
This position may require working in virtual, weekend, evening, or various campus locations.  Successful candidate must be willing to teach concurrent enrollment both on PPSC campuses and in local area high schools.
• Meet all scheduled classes/labs/clinics/office hours/advising requirements and provide instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of the college and the Department Director’s approved course outline.
• Use teaching methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds to allow each student the opportunity to master the objectives of the course.
• Inform students of course requirements through a course syllabus, including specific objectives, the means of attaining course objectives, and methods of instruction and grading.
• Evaluate students on a continuing basis to allow them to be aware of their own progress.  Participate in department and/or college-level assessment of student learning outcomes in general education and career/technical courses and programs as required.
• Recommend instructional materials, textbooks, appropriate instructional equipment, and supportive reference materials for the college library collection.
• Maintain and submit records as required by policy and procedures.
• Promote affirmative action and equal opportunity concepts within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
• Maintain required credentials, licenses, certification as appropriate, and proficiency and up-to-date subject matter knowledge.
• Assist and comply with special accrediting body standards (CAPTE).
• Participate in division and college training, meetings, and events as necessary.
• Assist program ACCE or Director, as necessary.

The position is responsible for the following:
Lecture and lab, administer exams, design curricular elements, and teach course-specific skills.
Proctor psychomotor exam and skill checks.
Other duties as assigned.

Record keeping and Instructional Management
Keep scheduled office hours, including providing regular student office hours.
Meets classes as scheduled for prescribed time. 
Submits required reports and documents.
Attends required Divisional meetings.

Assist, as requested, with the development of the term class schedule and the college catalog.
Assist with curriculum review, revision, development and implementation within the department.
Assist in the development and maintenance of course outlines and course syllabi.
Assist in textbook selection and adoption.
Assist with student advising and student registration.
Maintain a program advisory committee, as appropriate.
Participate in professional development activities as requested by the dean.
Assist with program reviews as required by appropriate agencies, e.g., NCA.
Professional Contributions 
Serve on college discipline, department, and community committees and task forces on behalf of the college.
Assist with Divisional activities as requested by the dean.
Assist with student recruitment as appropriate.
Assist with the development and implementation of alternative modes of instructional delivery, e.g., Internet or ITV, as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned by the dean, the Vice President for Instructional Services and/or the College President.
