Cape Fox subsidiary NAVAR is seeking a talented and experienced Event Planner. The salary range (or hiring range) for this exempt position has been established at: $80,000- $90,000.
The above salary range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, we offer a variety of benefits including company holidays, paid time off, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.
The Event Planner position provides event planning, event coordination, and communications support to the Federal Transit Administration Office of Communications and Congressional Affairs.
  • Establish project plan with milestones for assigned event
  • Provide bi-weekly updates to events team (location(s) researched, quotes received - prepared in a cost comparison spreadsheet)
  • Provide written recommendations, pros and cons
  • Demonstrate experience using (Qualtrics, WebEx, Windows operating systems)
  • Work on or lead team(s) as needed
  • Identify venues, inspecting potential locations, determining site specifications and requirements
  • Determine room setup, developing room diagrams, coordinating logistics for staging and equipment
  • Identify A/V equipment needs, e.g., lighting, sound, audiovisual, working with vendor to establish setup and strike schedules
  • Determine food and beverage service requirements, select menus, establish service times, duration, and breakdown
  • Provide onsite logistical management of event
  • Assist with the approval process for the use and scheduling of multi-purpose rooms and lunchroom
  • Assist with other events management duties as assigned

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Experience and capability to support meeting planning and coordination
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure, handle stress and deliver professional results.
  • Long hours and weekends may be required to meet deliverables.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with minimal oversight.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Qualtrics, WebEx.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
