Job description

As we continue to expand, we're looking for an Environmental Engineer with hands-on remediation experience who is ready to take ownership of complex soil and groundwater projects and grow alongside a national firm, supporting work based out of our southern California office.

What You'll Do:

In this role, you'll be directly involved in the design, operation, and optimization of soil and groundwater remediation systems, including:

  • Support and lead soil and groundwater remediation projects from field execution through reporting, working under the oversight of a senior Professional Engineer and in concert with our engineering and field technician team
  • Oversee operation and maintenance (O&M) of remediation systems such as:
    • Groundwater extraction and treatment
    • Soil vapor extraction
    • Thermal oxidizers and related treatment technologies
  • Support and assist with remedial system design, modifications, and performance evaluations and optimization
  • Oversee field work to ensure compliance with work plans, permits, and project specifications
  • Oversee compliance with applicable regulations (AQMD, SWPPP, WDR, hazardous materials/waste, etc.)
  • Provide oversight and direction to field technicians supporting O&M activities; work in the field to troubleshoot and maximize remediation system uptime.
  • Analyze and interpret O&M and performance data to optimize system effectiveness
  • Prepare technical reports, regulatory submittals, and proposals

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience supporting or leading soil and groundwater remediation projects
  • Experience with soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and air sampling
  • Strong background in field data collection and technical report writing
  • HAZWOPER certification
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • High proficiency with MS Office
  • Excellent technical communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Field adeptness with a solid understanding of safe work practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with stormwater compliance and permitting
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Stormwater certifications
