Facilities Engineering Project Manager / Facility Engineer
Job Type:
W2 Contract
Contract Duration: 24 Months
Location: Waterloo, IA 50703
Shift: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Occasional work until 5:00 PM a couple times per month)
Pay Rate: $44.00 - $46.25/hr.
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite

Position Overview
The Facility Engineer will provide engineering and project management support for manufacturing facility improvements within Tractor Operations. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing facility and maintenance projects related to building infrastructure, production equipment, and manufacturing processes. The position works closely with internal teams, contractors, and skilled trades to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, plan, and manage multi-discipline facilities and maintenance projects
  • Review hot work requests and red tag procedures
  • Develop engineering solutions for facility infrastructure, grounds, production equipment, and manufacturing processes
  • Manage projects involving facility infrastructure, production machinery, equipment, and manufacturing operations
  • Coordinate activities with outside design professionals, contractors, and suppliers
  • Troubleshoot facility infrastructure and production equipment issues
  • Support life safety, building code compliance, and environmental, health, and safety initiatives
  • Assist with identifying and resolving environmental, safety, ergonomic, and health hazards
  • Support Emergency Notification Systems (ENS), FM Global insurance coordination, and IT/network-related projects
  • Work with non-mobile material handling equipment applications, engineering, and installations
  • Research and source qualified suppliers, materials, equipment, and services for maintenance and construction projects

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Supervision, and/or Maintenance Engineering
  • 5+ years coordinating skilled trades and contractors to achieve project objectives
  • 3+ years working with building infrastructure systems, including:
    • Mechanical
    • Electrical
    • Structural systems
  • 3+ years applying engineering principles within manufacturing operations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience collaborating with plant personnel and management teams
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards

Work Environment
  • Fully onsite position; no remote work available
  • Manufacturing/shop floor environment
  • Approximately 75% of time spent on the factory floor
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Metatarsal safety boots required on the first day
  • Business casual dress code
  • Occasional travel within facility operations as needed
