Jack Hornsby Electric is looking for an organized and motivated Assistant Electrical Estimator to learn the estimating profession while supporting experienced Estimators on commercial and industrial projects.
This is more than an administrative position-it's a career development opportunity. You'll gain hands-on experience with estimating software, blueprint reading, quantity takeoffs, vendor relationships, and bid preparation while building the skills needed to advance into a full Electrical Estimator role.

What you'll be doing:
- Assist with preparing commercial and industrial electrical estimates
- Organize plans, specifications, bid documents, and project files
- Request vendor and subcontractor pricing
- Coordinate bid schedules and proposal deadlines
- Prepare bid worksheets and proposal documentation
- Maintain estimating databases and project records
- Assist with customer follow-up and vendor communication
- Learn estimating software, quantity takeoffs, and proposal development
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
- Ability to read blueprints and construction documents
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management
- Desire to build a long-term career in electrical estimating
