Job description

Assistant Electrical Detailer

This position plans and prepares non-routine drawings with complex features using information from rough sketches, detailed engineering notes or brief verbal guidance. Substation design with team of engineers and drafters. Develop detailed layouts and details using acquired knowledge of fundamental concepts and practices pertaining to the electrical discipline. Responsible for the set-up of discipline specific drawings at project start-up. This position successfully follows company and client drafting standards and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in drafting technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous drafting experience.
  • Related consulting experience preferred.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication, time management, team player, energetic
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member.
  • Proficient in at least one type of CAD system and capable of working in other software packages when necessary.

Background/Experience/Computer Skills:

  • 3-D Design, AutoCAD or Microstation, but Microstation preferred.
  • Looking for local candidates with 2-5 years of experience.
  • Would like to see candidates with utility type project experience.
  • Routinely uses higher-level commands, timesaving programs and routines.
