Job description

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Electrical Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year.

What you’ll do:
  • Develop and maintain product designs, BOMs, drawings, and specifications for control systems and protective relays.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes for existing products.
  • Resolve production, manufacturing, and testing issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with suppliers and Supplier Quality Engineers to evaluate capabilities, conduct assessments, and approve components.
  • Investigate product quality and reliability issues; document findings and support customer communications.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Design for Six Sigma, DFM, and DFA methodologies.
  • Perform engineering analyses and simulations using CAD, FEA, and other engineering tools.
  • Coordinate product verification, validation, and reliability testing with internal and external laboratories.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve products, processes, and overall performance.
Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of South Milwaukee, WI to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1, H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, 1-485 job profitability, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum one (1) year of design experience with PCBA design and electrical circuits
  • Experience with engineering analysis and digital simulation (CAD, FEA, statistical analysis, software applications, electrical analysis tools, etc…)
  • High voltage design experience and power system analysis experience
  • Experience with PCB development tools
Skills:
  • Product design, DFM/DFA, and manufacturing knowledge.
  • Excellent computer and data analysis skills including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Problem solving experience using Root Cause Analysis techniques.
  • Strong analytical aptitude to troubleshoot Analog & Digital designs at the component level
  • Project leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Green belt training
