Job description

TITLE: Electrical Engineer

POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for supporting the activities of the electrical/electronic department including guidance/support of electrical maintenance as well as the initiation and completion of process improvement projects. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 0-5 years Electrical Engineering in an industrial maintenance environment 
  • BSEE (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering)
  • PLC, HMI, and variable speed drive programming
  • PC maintenance, troubleshooting and repair
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to multi-task
  • Some nights and weekends work may be required
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Programming and troubleshooting PLC's, HMI's, PC's and AC and DC variable frequency drives
  • Assist Electrical Technicians with troubleshooting equipment issues
  • Maintain backups of PLC, HMI, and variable frequency drives configuration and program files
  • Maintain PC backups and equipment documentation
  • Design, assemble and Install new equipment new electrical equipment and systems as required
  • Improvement Projects initiation and completion
  • Assist Senior Electrical Engineer with training of department personnel
  • Identify parts and assist spare parts coordinator, engineering specialist, manager in the requisition and inventory of spare parts and equipment
  • Ensure safety in the workplace
  • Maintain professional certifications and keep up to date on all procedure and policy changes
  • Assist Senior Electrical Engineer with Engineering Specialist support for the Electrical Maintenance Department
  • Complies with all SQF procedures as required and reports any food safety problems to a member of management or SF Practitioner
