Job Details:
- Full-time hybrid role supporting both ambulatory clinic and inpatient hospital settings across the central Connecticut region
- Provide outpatient ECG interpretation, diagnosis, and management of complex cardiac arrhythmias
- Perform pre-procedure risk stratification for cardiac EP procedures and prescribe diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
- Monitor and adjust medications for complex cardiac arrhythmias and optimize evidence-based treatment plans
- Perform routine Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (CIED) testing and reprogramming independently or with minimal physician supervision
- Review, interpret, and manage CIED remote transmissions
- Facilitate outpatient therapeutic procedures including pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, and catheter ablation
- Provide EP clinical support to medical, critical care, progressive care, perioperative, and emergency patient management in inpatient settings
- Collaborate with inpatient multidisciplinary teams including Cardiologists, Intensivists, and Hospitalists to facilitate cardiac arrhythmia interventions
- Interrogate, interpret, and manage inpatient implanted cardiac devices in the acute care setting
- Support EP perioperative services including pre and post-procedure orders, interval H&P, pre-op lab review, and discharge instructions
- Ability to independently implant loop recorders, or willingness to learn
- Basic EP procedural first assist skills preferred; highly motivated candidates with a proactive attitude toward acquiring new competencies are encouraged to apply
- Provide patient education including treatment options and lifestyle modifications
- Participate in total quality management initiatives to improve patient and system outcomes
- Stay current with advancements in electrophysiology through continuing education
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master's program preferred
- Must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Physician Assistant or APRN in the state of Connecticut
- Cardiology experience preferred; electrophysiology experience is a strong preference
- Cardiac device management experience highly preferred
- Utilizes EPIC EMR
