Job description

Hi there, we're Article.   We're an online furniture company, renowned for our home delivery experience. As a Drayage Driver, you will transport freight containers, perform drop-and-hook movements between ports, and assist in the warehouse when needed.

  • Driving responsibilities
    • Haul freight containers secured to chassis; may also haul dry van trailers
    • Perform drop-and-hook container movements
    • Safely transport furniture containers to and from the warehouse
    • Operate on daily, scheduled routes
    • Follow all DOT regulations and safety standards
    • Represent the company with professional, friendly customer communication
    • Maintain a reliable and flexible schedule to meet business needs
  • Warehouse responsibilities
    • Support warehouse operations as needed (this is a core part of the role)
    • Pick and pack pre-boxed furniture
    • Unload inbound containers and trucks
    • Move inventory throughout the warehouse
    • Process returned items, including cleaning or preparing items for restock
    • Promote and maintain a safe, clean work environment across the facility
  • Ways of working
    • Minimum 40-hour work week
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Positive, flexible attitude and willingness to jump in where needed
Basic requirements
  • At least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum of 3 years of CDL Class A driving experience
  • Can speak and read English
Credentials & compliance
  • TWIC card required
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, including Hours of Service
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements, including:
    • DOT physical
    • DOT drug screen
    • Substance abuse screening
    • Background check completion (Article considers qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records)
Physical requirements
  • Able to lift/move up to 100 lbs. on your own
  • Able to handle heavy items (100-300+ lbs.) with team members and/or proper lifting equipment.
  • Able to climb and step into a truck cab
  • Able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
