Job description

Luck Stone is seeking an Assistant Stationary Equipment Manager to lead the team in planning, prioritizing, and overseeing maintenance and repair activities for all stationary equipment. Assist the Stationary Equipment Manager in tracking performance, implementing best practices, and supporting the vision, strategy, and business plan for Luck Stone. Contribute to the development and communication of training and guidelines for Stationary Equipment SOPs. Provide leadership, technical, and administrative support to optimize stationary equipment assets across the business and achieve the company's reliability goals and Operations Excellence strategy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • 40% of Job: Maintenance & Operations Oversight - Direct team to provide turnkey maintenance services, integrate new locations, and oversee equipment reliability projects. Partner with other support teams to effectively utilize resources. Assist in overseeing third-party repairs and warranty claims. Provide input and technical assistance on equipment utilization and major repairs.

  • 30% of Job: Team Support & Development - Provide leadership and support to the Stationary Equipment support team (Technical Advisors and Field Mechanics). Lead the team to deliver high levels of service to operations, support technical issues, and coordinate resources for operations. Participate in the innovation of maintenance processes and collaborate with other support groups to implement new technologies and training. Help ensure all operators are properly trained and competent to safely operate assigned equipment.

  • 20% of Job: Equipment Purchasing & Capital Planning - Support the Stationary Equipment Manager in managing the stationary equipment purchasing process. Assist in developing and reviewing five-year capital plans and equipment needs analysis with Regional Operations Managers and Plant Managers. Help determine capital expenses for rebuilds and replacements and provide input on operating and project budgets. Utilize project management tools to support projects within the functional area.

  • 10% of Job: Vendor & Contract Support - Assist the Stationary Equipment Manager in managing vendor relationships, reviewing quotes, negotiating pricing and terms, and supporting contract execution. Help develop strong relationships with key vendors.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Required Education: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education: Post-secondary education in equipment reliability, industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or related field
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of managing teams in the safe operation and maintenance of aggregate plant processing equipment or equivalent
Required Licenses & Certifications: Certified mine foreman in state of Virginia or ability to get certified
Preferred Licenses & Certifications: Certifications related to equipment maintenance or reliability

ENVIRONMENT OR PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Ability to work under conditions of frequent exposure to dusty conditions and the full range of weather conditions; frequently in, on, and around quarry high walls and pit; short periods working from elevated positions or in tunnels.
