The Goddard School located at Issaquah is looking for a motivated, self-starter for an Assistant Director position at our School! The Assistant Director of Excellence is responsible for ensuring the school consistently meets and exceeds all regulatory, accreditation, and organizational quality standards. This role focuses on compliance, operational excellence, and continuous quality improvement across the school.
The Assistant Director of Excellence works closely with the School Director and Assistant Director of Curriculum to support adherence to state licensing requirements, quality assurance standards, accreditation expectations, and program improvement initiatives while helping maintain a safe, compliant, and high-quality learning environment for children.

Assistant Director Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Licensing
  • Ensure full compliance with all state licensing regulations and maintain readiness for inspections at all times.
  • Conduct routine internal audits of classrooms, documentation, and procedures to ensure adherence to licensing requirements.
  • Maintain organized records for staff qualifications, training, ratios, background checks, and required documentation.
  • Partner with leadership to address licensing findings and implement corrective action plans when necessary.

Quality Assurance & Brand Standards
  • Monitor adherence to Goddard Quality Assurance (QA) standards and support the school in maintaining high program quality.
  • Prepare the school for QA visits by conducting internal reviews and coaching staff on expectations.
  • Ensure classrooms reflect the brand's standards for environment, health, safety, and documentation.

Accreditation & Quality Programs
  • Lead compliance and preparation for NAEYC
  • Support implementation and documentation for Early Achievers quality improvement system.
  • Oversee program alignment with MERIT professional development requirements and staff credential tracking.

School Quality Improvement
  • Support the development and monitoring of the school's continuous quality improvement plans.
  • Analyze compliance and quality data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement strategies that enhance program quality and operational excellence

Staff Support & Training
  • Provide guidance and coaching to staff regarding compliance procedures and best practices.
  • Conduct trainings on licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Ensure staff remain current with required trainings and certifications

Health, Safety & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor incident reporting procedures and regulatory timelines.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of classrooms and playground areas

Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain documentation required for inspections, audits, and accreditation processes.
  • Prepare reports for leadership regarding compliance status and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure timely completion of required state and organizational reports.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education leadership or program administration.
  • Strong knowledge of state licensing regulations and quality standards.
  • Experience with accreditation processes such as NAEYC preferred.
  • Familiarity with Early Achievers and MERIT systems in Washington State preferred.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
