Job description
Under limited supervision, the Executive Director of Information Technology is responsible for strategic decision making in the organizations technology offerings and aligning resources with the organizations short-term and long-term goals. This includes leadership of the DMP information technology team and software infrastructure team, as well as providing recommendations on technology offerings and resources across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years related experience, preferably in an executive role.
- Proven expertise in high-scale infrastructure, such as cloud-based or hybrid environments handling large amounts of data or traffic.
- Should be a strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus.
- Demonstrated success implement AI initiatives within an organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills.
- Strong technical experience in systems administration, network management, cyber security and cloud server environments
- Accept and benefit from constructive criticism.
- Any other equivalent combination of training and experience.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, direct and evaluate the organization's technology status and performance.
- Present reports on the company's technology status, goals and progress.
- Research industry best practices and identify future technology opportunities. Identify technologies that can be used in the company's products and services.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all IT operations, ensuring alignment with quarterly and annual business priorities.
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of customer-facing infrastructure, including high-availability servers with a focus on performance, scalability, and uptime.
- Support the development and execution of enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategies, balancing regulatory compliance with evolving threat landscapes and modern digital practices.
- Drive the adoption and integration of AI technologies to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and internal decision-making across departments.
- Ensure reliability and performance of IT systems supporting internal teams, including development environments, manufacturing environments, ERP systems and more.
- Establish, maintain and manage IT governance frameworks, including policies for data management, information security, vendor purchasing reviews, disaster recovery, and IT systems use (service provisioning, replacement, upgrades, etc.).
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, support, and executive teams to identify and implement technology solutions that enable innovation and agility.
- Manage IT budgets, staffing, and resource planning, balancing innovation with operational excellence and cost efficiency.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the IT organization, incorporating best practices in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, system monitoring, and incident response.
- Represent IT leadership in executive discussions, communicating complex technical concepts in business terms to influence strategy and investment.
- Develop the team to meet the changing needs of users; train on new projects and technologies; conduct reviews, coaching and development. Identify areas for team development and make recommendations where needed.
- Assist in defining Security Council training objectives and opportunities. Develop and oversee high-level KPIs to monitor these. Assist in defining organizational training needs aligning with security.
- Observes and adheres to DMP Data Classification standards.
- Observe company policies. Continuously strives to find processes that create improved efficiency while maintaining conformance to requirements
