Position Title
Assistant Director for Marketing Communications
Job Responsibilities
The Assistant Director for Marketing Communications, reporting to the Director of Public Relations, supports the development and execution of integrated marketing and communication strategies that advance the college's mission, brand, and enrollment goals. This position plays a key role in creating communication, digital strategy, project management, and campus collaboration to ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all platforms that support the Truman brand.
Communication and Marketing
โ€ข Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality standards.
โ€ข Manage comprehensive communication plan for Office of Admission including drip campaigns, event communications, next step communications, and any ad hoc
โ€ข Write, edit, and produce high-quality content using Slate.
โ€ข Create and maintain communication calendar for Office of Admission between print, digital, email, text, ad-hoc, recurring, and campaign communications
โ€ข Collaborate with Publications, Public Relations, Marketing, Mail Services, and Printing Services to ensure appropriate information is presented and submitted in a timely manner
โ€ข Coordinate direct mail and print publications, including bid process for the printing and mailing of publications with approval from VP of Student Engagement & Marketing and Director of Admission
โ€ข Maintain documentation of mailing and processing procedures for future reference
โ€ข Train and manage marketing team members on applicable processes
Supervision & Leadership
โ€ข Supervise marketing coordinator to provide guidance and training to ensure effective workflows and professional development
โ€ข Provide project management support as part of the core marketing committee to ensure appropriate planning, execution and timely delivery of necessary communication and marketing projects

Required Qualifications
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a
โ€ข 3-5 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, or related areas.
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
โ€ข Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
โ€ข Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
โ€ข Knowledge of SEO, analytics, and email marketing platforms.
โ€ข Basic graphic design, photography, or video production skills.

Salary
