Taft is seeking a Legal Assistant with 2+ years’ experience to join the Domestic Relations Group in our Minneapolis office.

Essential Duties:
- Edits and proofreads highly sensitive and confidential documents. This requires proactive review for, and ability to relay, relevant discrepancies/inconsistencies
- Coordinates client intake, including conflict checks, opening files, creating electronic file structure, etc.
- Contacts clients as directed and maintains client contacts
- Schedules and calendars all hearings, mediations, trials, and meetings, coordinates related logistics, monitors deadlines, and schedules and conducts telephone conferences
- Coordinates filing and service of correspondence, pleadings and discovery, saves to firm systems and forwards to client as appropriate
- Prepares and organizes trial and mediation binders and assists team with finalizing exhibits and witness materials
- Maintains electronic and physical case files, including organizing and indexing large volumes of documents
- Assists legal team in managing client contacts, emails, and hard copy documents
- Supports billing process by editing time entries, preparing cover letters and/or emails, following up on attorney and client inquiries, and performing other related duties
- Independently performs administrative duties including but not limited to proofing, editing, and releasing attorney time entries; registering, calendaring, and reporting CLEs; requesting and following up on reimbursements and other related tasks
- Exhibits outstanding client service in all interactions
- Communicates in a clear, concise, and professional manner
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality in work performed
- Demonstrates flexibility and ability to manage multiple priorities
Requirements:
- 2+ years related experience
- Proficient command of the English language and standard grammar rules
- Strong working knowledge of and experience in using Microsoft Office programs; desire to maintain and upgrade excellent technical skills and to learn new software
Taft offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, flexible spending, 401K, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, bonus and more. The salary range for this position is $30.25/hour - $41.02/hour. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted information based on work experience, education, and/or skill level.
