Job description
The Assistant Director - Crisis Management & Resilience (ADCMR) is responsible for strengthening Wynn's organizational resilience by leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of an integrated Crisis Management and Resilience Program. This critical leadership role safeguards the continuity of operations, protects the organization's reputation, and enhances preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience capabilities across the resort.
Reporting directly to the Director of Crisis Management, the ADCMR serves as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to executive leadership, providing strategic guidance on crisis preparedness, business continuity, resilience planning, emergency management, and incident response. The role ensures the organization maintains a high state of readiness through the delivery of actionable intelligence, coordinated response frameworks, resilience initiatives, training, and exercises designed to strengthen the organization's ability to anticipate, withstand, respond to, and recover from disruptive events.
Operating in a dynamic luxury resort environment where discretion, sound judgment, precision, and composure are essential, the ADCMR plays a key role in fostering a culture of preparedness, resilience, and operational excellence. This is an on-site, operationally critical position requiring a consistent on-property presence and close collaboration with leaders across all functional areas of the organization.
Role Focus: Preparedness, continuity, response, recovery, resilience, executive advisory, and continuous improvement.
Key Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the continuous development, implementation, and enhancement of Wynn Resorts' integrated Crisis Management and Resilience Program, ensuring frameworks, plans, procedures, and governance processes align with industry best practices and support organizational preparedness, continuity, response, recovery, and resilience objectives.
- Support the design and execution of enterprise-wide crisis management, emergency management, business continuity, and resilience strategies, ensuring the protection of guests, employees, operations, assets, reputation, and brand value.
- Develop, maintain, and validate crisis communication, notification, and escalation protocols that enable timely, accurate, and coordinated information sharing across executive leadership and operational stakeholders.
- Monitor, assess, and communicate emerging threats, hazards, incidents, and external events that may affect resort operations, providing strategic intelligence, situational awareness, and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- Analyze developing situations and operational disruptions, delivering concise executive briefings, impact assessments, and decision-support products that facilitate informed leadership decision-making during rapidly evolving events.
- Lead the development and delivery of resilience-focused training programs, exercises, simulations, and tabletop exercises, strengthening organizational preparedness, response capabilities, recovery readiness, and leadership confidence.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and business partners, providing expert guidance on crisis management, business continuity, emergency preparedness, operational resilience, and recovery planning.
- Coordinate the development, maintenance, and testing of business continuity and recovery plans, ensuring critical business functions can be sustained or restored efficiently following disruptive events.
- Develop and present executive-level reports, dashboards, assessments, and performance metrics that measure organizational resilience, preparedness, exercise outcomes, incident trends, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships throughout the organization, promoting collaboration, resilience awareness, and coordinated decision-making before, during, and after incidents and crises.
- Maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, emergency services organizations, industry associations, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with evolving threats, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Support and mentor personnel involved in crisis management, emergency response, and resilience initiatives, helping build organizational capability and leadership capacity across all functional areas.
- Exercise sound judgment and leadership during high-pressure situations, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, composure, and a commitment to guest, employee, and organizational safety.
- Provide 24/7 crisis management and incident response support, including emergency coordination, executive briefings, Crisis Management Team facilitation, stakeholder communications, and liaison with first responders and external agencies.
- Lead post-incident reviews, lessons learned processes, corrective action planning, and improvement initiatives, ensuring operational insights are integrated into resilience strategies, plans, training programs, and governance processes.
- Champion a culture of preparedness, resilience, and operational excellence by promoting awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned, supporting the strategic objectives of the Crisis Management & Resilience Department and the broader organizational mission.
- Aligns the role with crisis management, business continuity, emergency management, operational resilience, recovery, executive governance, and continuous improvement.
- Clarifies that the position is responsible for both incident response and broader resilience capability development.
- Positions the ADCMR as a strategic leadership role supporting the protection of guests, employees, operations, reputation, and brand value.
