Job description

Job Summary:
SM Energy Company is seeking a Sr. Engineering Technician to support the Completions team. The role involves ensuring data accuracy, generating KPI reports, and providing analytical support for engineering tasks and projects.
Responsibilities:
• Extract and analyze data and reporting from various internal systems including Wellview, Spotfire, SAP, and third party well data, including state regulatory and production data, Enverus and SM Energy Data Warehouses
• Create and maintain numerous reports and spreadsheets for Completions operations as well as maintaining performance data
• Assist engineers in the preparation of procedures, technical reports, analyses, and presentations as needed (may require advanced spreadsheet applications and skills)
• Coordinate data retrieval, loading, manipulation, and management for use by groups other than engineering teams/departments
• Provide supporting data via research from public sources such as IHS and regulatory agencies
• Perform moderate calculations and preliminary analyses of data in support of engineering studies
• Provide basic technical support for Spotfire and other visualization tools
• Conduct business safely and with the highest ethical standards
• Other duties as assigned
• Able to work independently and make a positive impact on the team

• Must demonstrate attention to detail, able to maintain data integrity, strong communication, and ability to work well with teammates
• Ability to mentor other techs or other administrative staff
• Technical associate degree or related experience required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field or industry
Preferred:
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred
