Job description

We're looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success - and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.

The Vice President, Integrated Business Planning (IBP) will build, lead, and institutionalize nVent's enterprise-wide Integrated Business Planning capability.

This executive will establish a single planning and decision-making framework that aligns strategy, commercial growth, operations, supply chain, inventory, capital investment, and financial performance across the enterprise.

As a newly established capability, the VP, IBP will serve as the primary architect, educator, and change leader responsible for defining what Integrated Business Planning means at nVent, building organizational understanding, and embedding IBP into the company's management operating system.

This leader will partner closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Segment Presidents, ISC leaders, Finance, Commercial, Product Management, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Digital teams to transform planning from a functional process into an enterprise capability that improves decision quality, accelerates growth, increases agility, and drives stronger business performance.

Success will be measured by the organization's ability to make better, faster, and more integrated business decisions, not by process compliance alone.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:Enterprise Transformation & Change Leadership
  • Educate executive leaders on IBP principles, governance, purpose, and business value.
  • Establish IBP as a core component of the nVent Management Operating System.
  • Create common planning language, processes, decision rights, and governance across all business segments.
  • Drive the enterprise-wide organizational change required to move from siloed planning to integrated decision-making.
  • Facilitate executive trade-off discussions related to growth, capacity, inventory, customer service, cash flow, and financial performance.
  • Influence leaders to think beyond functional priorities and optimize for enterprise outcomes.
Management System Integration
  • Integrate IBP into the broader ISC Management Operating System.
  • Connect annual strategy deployment, monthly business reviews, financial planning, and operational execution through a common planning framework.
  • Define enterprise planning key performance indicators, governance, and accountability structures.
  • Ensure planning outputs drive action and decision-making rather than reporting activities.
  • Implement executive dashboards and visibility tools that enable rapid identification of risks and opportunities.
Enterprise IBP Strategy & Governance
  • Define the future-state vision and maturity roadmap for nVent's IBP journey.
  • Benchmark leading IBP practices and determine the capabilities required to support long-term growth.
  • Develop and deploy enterprise planning standards, training materials, and capability-building programs.
  • Create an enterprise planning framework that connects demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, capacity planning, financial planning, and strategic priorities.
  • Serve as the enterprise champion and thought leader for Integrated Business Planning.
Demand, Supply & Inventory Alignment
  • Align demand, manufacturing capacity, sourcing strategies, inventory policies, and customer service objectives.
  • Develop enterprise approaches for balancing growth, service, cash flow, productivity, and risk.
  • Lead scenario planning and decision-making related to shortages, disruptions, capacity constraints, and market changes.
  • Improve forecast accuracy, inventory health, and supply chain responsiveness.
Capacity & Growth Planning
  • Lead long-range capacity planning processes that support growth, footprint optimization, and strategic business investments.
  • Evaluate future capacity requirements across manufacturing, suppliers, distribution, and logistics networks.
  • Partner with ISC, Finance, and Segment leaders to prioritize investment and capital deployment decisions.
Material Excellence & Working Capital
  • Define enterprise inventory strategies and planning standards.
  • Drive improvements in inventory productivity, material planning, material flow, and working capital performance.
  • Establish common measures and accountabilities across segments and regions.
  • Create sustainable inventory management capabilities that improve service while reducing complexity and excess inventory.
Analytics, Data & Digital Planning Transformation
  • Partner with Digital and Data teams to modernize planning tools, systems, and analytics capabilities.
  • Establish a single source of truth for supply chain planning data.
  • Leverage advanced analytics, AI, predictive tools, and digital technologies to improve planning effectiveness.
  • Define enterprise planning metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting standards.
Organizational Design & Capability Building
  • Define the future-state planning organization across enterprise, segment, and local operations.
  • Determine which planning capabilities should be centralized, standardized, or embedded within business segments.
  • Build an enterprise planning talent strategy, including capability development, succession planning, and career pathways.
  • Develop a world-class planning organization capable of supporting nVent's long-term growth objectives.
  • Initially lead through influence and matrix relationships while the future organization structure is defined.
Enterprise Leadership
  • Serve as a key member of the Integrated Supply Chain leadership team.
  • Influence executive leaders across operations, commercial, product management, finance, and digital functions.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, accountability, fact-based decision-making, and enterprise outcomes.
  • Lead organizational change required to transition to an integrated enterprise planning model.
YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business, Finance, or related discipline. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Planning, Manufacturing, or related fields.
  • Significant experience leading enterprise-level Sales and Operations Planning, SOE, IBP, or supply chain transformation initiatives.
  • Experience building planning capabilities across complex, global manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional transformations in matrix organizations.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, sourcing, logistics, inventory management, finance, and commercial planning processes.
  • Enterprise approach with ability to balance business unit and enterprise needs.
  • Strategic thinker capable of translating long-term strategy into executable plans.
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives and drive alignment across functions.
  • Strong communication and executive presence.
  • Demonstrated capability to build organizations and develop talent.
  • Change leadership experience in large-scale transformation environments.

  • Demonstrated success driving large-scale organizational change.
  • Experience educating and influencing executive leadership teams.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and build organizational alignment.
  • Capability to lead through influence across a highly matrixed environment.
  • Track record of creating adoption rather than simply deploying process.
