Job Summary

The Program Manager (Research Compliance), under direction, plans, organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures for the administration of the program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day activities, developing and implementing procedures for the administration of the program.

  • Assists in developing strategic plans and goals to support the program.

  • Assists with the development and production of materials designed for the program.

  • Develops and conducts programs including leadership training, conferences, seminars, and workshops.

  • Supervises program support staff and student assistants.

  • Assists with yearly budgetary and contract processes. Prepares vouchers, purchase orders, and requisitions and coordinates with accounting personnel and other support staff.

  • Researches, develop, writes white papers, grant applications, and prepares presentations. Maintains and develops communications between partners by attending meetings and conference calls.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate institutional research compliance activities and assist faculty, staff, and students in navigating applicable federal, state, sponsor, and university research regulations and requirements.

  • Review research protocols, proposals, and related documentation for compliance with applicable policies and regulatory requirements and provide guidance regarding corrective actions and process improvements.

  • Support the administration of institutional compliance committees, including agenda preparation, documentation, record maintenance, follow-up activities, and communication of committee determinations.

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of research compliance policies, procedures, guidance documents, and educational resources.

  • Develop and deliver training, workshops, and outreach activities to promote compliance awareness and foster a culture of responsible research conduct across the University.

  • Compile compliance metrics, maintain records, prepare reports, and assist with audits, assessments, and monitoring activities related to research compliance programs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Biology, Health Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Public Health, Psychology, Social Sciences, Higher Education Administration, Research Administration, or a closely related field.

  • Experience - Five years of related experience.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Word processing, spreadsheet, database, and other office productivity applications.

  • Research compliance principles, regulations, and administrative processes.

  • Policy interpretation, records management, and report preparation.

Ability to:

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with faculty, students, staff, and external stakeholders.

  • Manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.

  • Exercise sound judgment and work collaboratively in addressing compliance-related matters.

License/Professional Certification - None

Salary: $48,110.40/annual
