The Company will consider applications of employees for the above classification, if they are presented in writing; the application to include a statement of the qualifications of the applicant. Applications shall be presented to Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess all the qualifications and be able to perform the duties of a Garage Mechanic.
2. Formal automotive education with at least 5 years' experience in technical automotive and heavy-duty service.
3. Must be superior technician with strong diagnostic skills and ability to work well independently.
4. Thorough knowledge of compressed natural gas vehicle programs including compressor function and repair.
5. Ability to work cooperatively with others and gain their cooperation.
6. Willingness to accept further education as deemed necessary by supervision.
7. Experience in computerized Fleet Management System and Inventory Control.
DUTIES:
*1. Schedule and assign daily work.
*2. Assists Supervision in processing and communication regarding orders, payments, applications and other items required for the efficient administration of the Garage area.
*3. Perform diagnosis and repair of vehicles and equipment.
*4. Assist Garage Mechanics with diagnostics and repairs as needed.
*5. Assist Garage Mechanics in Compressed Natural Gas Vehicle Conversions and Compressor repairs.
*6. Assist in the maintenance of Fleet Management System and garage inventory.
*7. Coordinate appointments with outside vendors as needed.
*8. Calibrate engine analyzer and maintain State vehicle emissions records.
*9. May be required to maintain, service and repair equipment related to the operation and fueling of compressed natural gas vehicles, including compressors, and filling station equipment.
*10. May be required to perform certified warranty work for several vehicle manufacturers.
11. Perform other related duties as required.
12. May involve handling hazardous waste. Training will be provided by the Company to meet requirements of 40 CFR 265.16.
