Responsible for the development of the Company's overall financial plans, financial policies and accounting practices consistent with Marmon Policy. Performs budgeting, audit, tax, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, customer credit control, assets control and insurance activities for the company. Has specific responsibility for developing, coordinating and analyzing necessary and appropriate financial data for all departments of the business. Oversees G/L reconciliations, journal entries and all other aspects related to close. Consolidate the performance of Marmon-Herrington (M-H) for reporting to HD Components & Modification (HDCM) management.
Job Duties:
  • Prepares and performs month end closing procedures for the Company in compliance with accounting standards under US GAAP
  • Prepare and review balance sheets, profit and loss statements, reconciliations, and other financial reports which include analyzing and explaining trends, costs, revenues, and financial metrics incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Reports organization's finances to management.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual forecast data to include narrative for differences to Board book forecast, budget, and prior year.
  • Understand and supervise all daily accounting functions to include accounts payable, inventory accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Maintains integrity of general ledger and performs monthly review and reconciliation of all ledger accounts.
  • Conducts analysis, provides data and reports on variances, monthly and semi-annual budgets, forecast, ledgers, and other information.
  • Maintains a strong business relationship with customers, vendors, and colleagues to meet business goals and objectives
  • Manage relationships and communications with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist the M-H President in facilitating current and long-range business planning, strategic planning and disaster planning.
  • Participate as a member of M-H's Executive Management Team.
  • Establish and maintain systems to track business trends, including labor utilization and costs, direct and indirect materials and supplies, scrap and salvage costs, administrative expenses, etc.
  • Oversee timely collections of receivables and disbursement of payables.
  • Responsible for monitoring the accurate control and reporting of inventory, including annual physical inventories.
  • Responsible for analyzing selling price, product cost and contribution margin reports while collaborating with sales, supply chain and/or other M-H support teams to identify and recommend actionable plans or rules.
  • Review capital expenditures as appropriate, verifying payback calculations and assuring adherence to Marmon Policy.
  • Assist with administration of participation in the Marmon Employee's Retirement Plan (MERP).
  • Facilitate development of capital and expense plans.
  • Plan, manage and control tax law and financial regulation compliance and reporting.
  • Adhoc projects, analyses, process improvements and cross-functional initiatives as needed.

Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the M-H President with indirect reporting to HDCM Platform Controller with one Senior Accountant direct report.
Worker Education and Experience:
  • Four-year degree in accounting (required)
  • MBA/CPA completed or in progress (preferred)
  • At least 5-7 years of progressive accounting and managerial experience with demonstrated increases in responsibilities. Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

Required Skills:
  • Exceptional personal leadership skills
  • Experience in operational finance
  • Experience with SOX and GAAP
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Must have a high energy level and be willing to accept and deal with change and perform all accounting tasks as necessary
  • Must be able to build strong relationships with peers and colleagues in the sales, accounting, engineering, and operations functions
  • Must be able to work under time constraints and deadlines and produce accurate results
  • Must be able to successfully manage multiple projects
  • Must be comfortable in a high visibility position
  • Some minimal travel required
