Employment: Irregular part-time

Numbers of hours per week and per month subject to scheduling by Nursery Coordinator.


Purpose of the job: to serve the Church by assisting in carrying out its vision of "Encouraging one another to follow Jesus wherever we live, work, and play." Specifically to supervise children in need of care in the nursery or class rooms.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and personal care to children at all times.
  • Demonstrate physical, emotional, and intellectual competence necessary for self-control and good judgement when performing assigned responsibilities.
  • Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families and culture.
  • Interact frequently with children, showing affection, interest and respect.
  • Foster developmentally appropriate independence in children.
  • Follow Nursery Coordinator's direction and rules of conduct of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
  • Follow Covenant Presbyterian Church's policy on sign-in and sign-out procedures.
  • Provide age-appropriate activities for child or children when appropriate.
  • Fluently speaks and understands English.

Requirements

  • Enjoys working and engaging with children
  • Experience caring for children is preferred
  • Is reliable, patient and has a great attitude
  • Ability to lift at least 20 pounds
  • Be CPR/First Aid Certified, or willing to get certified
