As a Private Investigator for Lauth Investigations International, Inc. in the Indianapolis area, you willย be responsible forย conducting thorough surveillance and investigative work to gather intelligence across a range of corporate and private-sector cases. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability toย operateย discreetly in a variety of environments. You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver comprehensive findings and reports that support our corporate clients' needs, from workplace misconduct to due diligence and fraud investigations.ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

  • Conduct covert surveillance to gather pertinent information and evidence related to investigations.ย 
  • Utilize various investigative techniques and tools toย assistย in the successful resolution of cases.ย 
  • Gather and analyze data from different sources to prepare detailed, evidence-based reports of findings.ย 
  • Maintainย accurateย records of surveillance activities, observations, and case developments.ย 
  • Utilize technology, including GPS tracking and video surveillance equipment, to enhance the investigation process.ย 
  • Support corporate investigations including employee misconduct, internal theft, and policy or ethics violations.ย 
  • Assistย with workplace investigations related to harassment, discrimination, or other HR-driven complaints.ย 
  • Conduct due diligence research on individuals, vendors, and business partners to support client risk decisions.ย 
  • Investigate suspected corporate fraud, embezzlement, and financial misconduct.ย 
  • Conduct asset searches andย locateย individuals in support of litigation, recovery, or corporate risk needs.ย 
  • Assistย with intellectual property theft, trade secret, and competitive intelligence matters.ย 
  • Collaborate with team members and provide support on larger or multi-investigator investigative efforts.ย 
  • Communicate findings clearly and professionally to clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders when necessary.ย 
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory standards while conducting investigations.ย 
  • Stayย up-to-dateย with the latest trends, laws, and technologies in surveillance and corporate investigative work.ย 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of investigative processes and documentation within the organization.ย 

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of law enforcement experienceย required.ย 
  • Active Private Investigator license required (or ability to obtain prior to start, per state requirements).ย 
  • Strong observational and analytical skills with attention to detail.ย 
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a range of investigative scenarios, including corporate and workplace matters.ย 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing for client and legal use.ย 
  • Proficiencyย in using surveillance equipment and technology.ย 
  • Familiarity with due diligence, background investigation, and public/privateย recordsย research is a plus.ย 
  • Knowledge of legal regulations surrounding investigations, surveillance, and workplace/HR-related inquiries.ย
