Description: 

Classic Air is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Replacement Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a skilled lead retrofit installer with experience replacing and installing commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The successful candidate will have expertise working with rooftop units, split systems, VAV systems, air-cooled chillers, and exhaust equipment, while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

 What You’ll Do: 

  • Install, replace, and retrofit commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, including: 
  • Rooftop Units (RTUs) 
  • Split Systems 
  • VAV Systems 
  • Air-Cooled Chillers 
  • Exhaust and Ventilation Equipment 
  • Perform equipment change-outs and system upgrades in accordance with project specifications 
  • Complete copper brazing, piping modifications, and equipment reconnections 
  • Install and reconnect fiberglass ductwork and sheet metal components 
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment manuals, and project specifications 
  • Assist with startup and operational testing of newly installed equipment 
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical and control circuits related to HVAC equipment 
  • Maintain compliance with local HVAC codes and safety standards 
  • Communicate effectively with service manager, team members, and customers 
  • Maintain punctual attendance and reliable jobsite performance 
  • Work overtime as required to meet project deadlines 

What You’ll Bring: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required 
  • EPA (CFC) Certification required 
  • Completion of an HVAC installation training program, journeyman license, or equivalent commercial/industrial HVAC experience 
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of commercial HVAC installation and retrofit experience 
  • Strong experience with commercial rooftop units and split systems up to 50 tons 
  • Proficiency in copper brazing and HVAC equipment replacement projects 
  • Knowledge of sheet metal and fiberglass duct installation 
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics 
  • Familiarity with HVAC controls and building automation systems (BAS) preferred 
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record 
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check 
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to routinely sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday 
  • Ability to work on ladders, rooftops, and elevated work areas 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds 
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and commercial jobsite environments 
  • Physically capable of performing all duties associated with HVAC equipment installation and replacement
