Position Overview

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals in accordance with planned menus, dietary requirements, and food safety standards. This role supports patients, residents, and staff by delivering high-quality, nutritious meals in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and dietary guidelines
  • Ensure food is prepared, stored, and served in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Follow modified diets and special meal requirements as directed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Assist with food ordering, inventory, and stock rotation as needed
  • Collaborate with the Dietary team to ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • Provide excellent service to patients, residents, and staff
Qualifications
  • Previous cooking experience preferred, ideally in a healthcare or institutional setting
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary restrictions accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Food Handler's Permit (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Work Schedule

Full-time, temporary position with varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
