DIETARY COOK- Cranberry Park of West Bloomfield
FULL TIME
As a cook you will be part of our team whose liveliness, imagination and communication are valued and rewarded.
Cook amp; Assistant Cook Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Follow recipes and prepare foods that correspond to menu cycles prepared by the dietitian, including therapeutic and modified consistency diets.
  • Cook or prepare palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in institutional quantities of supplies amp; equipment.
  • Ensure meals are appealing, appetizing and nutritionally sound.
  • Work on tray line or in dining rooms serving meals to residents.
  • Does necessary preparation of foods for the following dayโ€™s menu.
  • Maintain sanitation standards as defined by facility policy and procedure while in the prep areas of the kitchen as well as the dish room.
  • Communicates with Director of Food Service amp; Dietitian throughout shift as needed to best meet needs of residents.
  • Attend required staff in-services
  • Other duties as assigned.
Cooks Requirements:
  • Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Current identification.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in long term care is preferred.
  • Prior experience in commercial restaurant is preferred
