Job description

This posting is for a substute cafeteria worker.  Duties in the cafeteria may vary and employment will be on an as needed basis.
Hourly Rate 2024-25 SY: $15.50-16.00
QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Experience in school food service preferred.
  • Successful completion of fingerprint based criminal background check (IL State Police and FBI), sex offender and violent youth offender screening, and employment physical.

REPORTS TO: Food Services Director
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs kitchen related tasks as assigned by the food services director. Tasks may include assisting cook, washing tables and/or dishes, and assisting with cafeteria tasks as needed.
  • Applies knowledge of the Illinois Administrative Code of Public Health and maintains a high standard of sanitation and safety and ensure all problems are corrected if any.
  • Practices a high level of work ethics and excellent communication.
  • Reports student discipline issues to the food services director or certified staff member on duty.
  • Maintains a good attendance record and communicates absences with the food services director.
  • Practices good personal hygiene and follows sanitation and safety procedures as set by the food services director.
  • Completes Epi-Pen training provided by the school nurse.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality to ensure teamwork and the completion of job duties essential to the daily operation of the school.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal/assistant principal and other district office administrators as designated by the superintendent.
  • Adheres to a professional code of ethics which includes confidentiality of school related matters and loyalty to the school district.
