Job Description Summary
Assist cook in preparation of daily meals that meet Head Start and USDA requirements and maintain a sanitary and healthy environment for children;
Schedule varies as needed.
Responsibilities
-Help cook to prepare meals according to the cyclic menu. Foods shall be attractively presented; hot foods shall be served hot and cold foods shall be served cold; Serve meals on time and maintain a sanitary, healthy environment by adhering to regulations for dishwashing and sanitizing surfaces, and by participating in daily custodial duties; Follow the Head Start performance standards for Health and Nutrition, and Oregon Health Division Food Sanitation Rules.
-Maintain open lines of communication within the program, including participation in team or individual meetings as requested, and submission of documentation or reports, as requested, in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
-High School Diploma or equivalent
-Regular kneeling, stooping and bending, and standing for long periods of time; frequent lifting up to 50lbs; Ability to perform necessary mathematical calculations; Determining and prioritizing own workload.
-Maintains confidentiality of records and conversations in accordance with policy; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments; Adapts to changes in the work environment; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Manages competing demands; is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events; Is consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
