The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals for residents in an assisted living and memory care environment. This role ensures all meals meet dietary requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations while contributing to a warm, welcoming dining experience for residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines
  • Ensure all food is presented in an appealing and appetizing manner
  • Follow specialized diets (e.g., low sodium, diabetic, pureed, mechanical soft) as directed
  • Maintain proper food temperatures, storage, and sanitation in compliance with health regulations
  • Assist with menu planning and food ordering as needed
  • Monitor inventory and report supply needs to management
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, equipment, and workstations
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Work collaboratively with dietary aides and care staff to meet residents’ needs
  • Accommodate resident preferences and provide excellent customer service
  • Participate in special events, holidays, and themed meals as required
  • Qualifications
