Key responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close process and ensure the books are accurate and timely

  • Manage two direct reports handling accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Maintain standard costing, absorption accounting, and handle intercompany transactions

Job description

Brandon Clark with Connexa Search Group is working with a growing and very profitable manufacturing company. This company is NOT in automotive manufacturing.

The Company

This is a growing, multi-site manufacturing company that has expanded through acquisition, adding a second production site that is scaling from one production line to several as volume increases. The organization is centralizing accounting functions to support that growth and reports up through a parent organization overseas, giving the accounting team exposure to both US GAAP and international reporting standards. This is an in-office role based in Easley, South Carolina, Monday through Friday.

Summary

The Controller will own day to day accounting for this location, managing two direct reports across accounts payable and accounts receivable while ensuring the books close accurately and on time each month. This is a hands-on role reporting directly to the CFO, with responsibility for standard costing, absorption accounting, and the intercompany transactions that connect this site to a growing second location. The role also supports reporting into the parent organization, translating day to day activity into the information leadership needs.

Why This Role

This is a chance to own the accounting function for a facility in growth mode, with production expanding and more volume coming online. The CFO is looking for someone who can close the books cleanly, build a strong foundation as the operation scales, and work directly with leadership rather than through layers of process.

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close process and ensure the books are accurate and timely
  • Manage two direct reports handling accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Maintain standard costing and absorption accounting
  • Handle intercompany transactions between company sites
  • Ensure accounting practices align with GAAP and support reporting requirements from the parent organization
  • Partner with leadership on process improvement as the business scales
  • Support the transition to a future enterprise system implementation
  • Serve as the primary accounting point of contact for the site

Qualifications

  • Progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of standard costing and absorption accounting
  • Experience with intercompany transactions and multi entity accounting
  • Comfortable managing direct reports and serving as the senior accounting presence on site
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Public accounting background with manufacturing clients is a plus
  • Experience working within an international reporting structure is a plus
