About the Opportunity

A rapidly growing organization is seeking a skilled Controller to oversee all accounting operations and help scale a high-performing finance function. This leadership role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Reporting to senior leadership, the Controller will direct financial reporting, manage the month-end and year-end close processes, lead audit activities, strengthen internal controls, and support operational decision-making across the business. The position also provides an opportunity to develop and mentor a talented accounting team while driving process improvements that support continued organizational growth.


What You'll Do

  • Direct the daily activities of the accounting department and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related reporting activities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering accountability and professional growth.
  • Manage the full close cycle, ensuring timely and accurate completion of accounting activities.
  • Oversee inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliations, cost tracking, cut-off procedures, and ledger accuracy.
  • Ensure balance sheet accounts and key financial reconciliations are completed and reviewed on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate annual audit readiness efforts and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
  • Evaluate customer, supplier, and business agreements to identify accounting considerations and financial obligations.
  • Assess contractual terms and determine proper accounting treatment in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Partner with operational leaders across the organization to analyze transactions, resolve accounting matters, and support business initiatives.
  • Recommend and implement process enhancements that improve efficiency, scalability, and financial accuracy.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
  • Prior experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting principles.
  • Extensive inventory accounting experience is required.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex business agreements and apply appropriate accounting guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and close management.
  • Background leading external audits and coordinating annual audit activities.
  • Successful track record of managing and developing accounting team members.
  • Experience working within ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to transition effectively between strategic leadership and detailed accounting work.
