The Controller will lead and oversee the financial operations of KX Technologies, ensuring accurate Marmon Standard Practice Instruction-compliant financial statements, strong internal controls, and sound accounting practices. This role supports responsible, profitable, and sustainable growth by driving data-based decision making through financial analysis, cross-functional partnership, process improvement, and effective communication of financial insights. Reporting to the Residential Filtration VP of Finance & Accounting, the Controller will lead the accounting department with two direct reports - Staff accountant and accounting clerk, and the expectation is to be on-site.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Manage OneStream parent company reporting and oversee accounts receivable, deductions management, and accounts payable processes to optimize cash flow and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with the Residential Filtration VP of Finance & Accounting to lead the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes, collaborating with department leaders to develop accurate financial plans.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget, provide variance analysis, and develop forecasts and long-range projections to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze profitability, working capital, and overall financial performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to support business growth and operational improvements.
  • Lead the capital investment process, including AFEs, cost accounting, and inventory management, while partnering cross-functionally to evaluate investment returns and ensure proper capital asset accounting.
  • Maintain compliance with Marmon Standard Practice Instructions, SOX requirements, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), ensuring a strong internal control environment and current audit documentation.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring timely responses and successful completion of audit requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by designing and implementing scalable financial processes that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and business insight.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team, cultivating a collaborative, accountable, and proficient culture that supports organizational objectives.

Qualifications, Skills, Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including GAAP within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with automated financial and accounting reporting systems with a proven ability to streamline processes for more efficient and effective results. (Experience with Epicor and OneStream is a plus).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, and modeling)
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate insights into actionable business recommendations
  • Demonstrated operational mindset, with the ability to align financial strategies to business objectives
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy and accountability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams, leadership, and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field required. CPA certification and/or prior audit experience are strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience
  • Occasional travel will be required.

Salary Range:

$140,000 - $150,000 (Determined by experience)
