Assistant Controller

If youโ€™re seeking a new role at a fun, fast-paced, and successful employer, then consider this full-time, direct-hire Assistant Controller opportunity! Youโ€™ll lead and support Finance and Accounting functions at the companyโ€™s Newington, NH location.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller

  • Manage daily accounting operations in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and reports
  • Maintain internal controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and support financial activities
  • Serve as subject matter expert of Federal Excise Taxes (FAET)
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Work closely with various internal teams, maintaining a high level of customer service and personal integrity
  • Perform additional tasks and special projects as required

Qualifications of the Assistant Controller

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required, Master's degree preferred
  • 4-6 years practical experience in either an operating/product-driven company, public accounting company, or mix required
  • CPA required
  • Proficiency in cost accounting, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and audit preparation (public audits preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel, and ERP systems (Oracle EBS strongly preferred)
  • Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to executives and other team members
  • Strong time management, prioritization, problem-solving, and project management skills
