What is an assistant contractor?

Assistant contractors are professionals who support lead contractors or project managers on construction projects. Their duties often include coordinating schedules, managing supplies, communicating with subcontractors, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. They help keep projects on track by handling various administrative and on-site tasks, making them essential for efficient project execution. Assistant contractors typically have a background in construction or project management and may be working toward becoming lead contractors themselves.

What are some common challenges assistant contractors face when managing multiple projects simultaneously?

Assistant Contractors often juggle several projects at different stages, which can make prioritizing tasks and maintaining clear communication challenging. Staying organized, meeting deadlines, and coordinating with various teams—such as suppliers, subcontractors, and inspectors—are daily hurdles. Adapting quickly to shifting project needs and resolving unexpected issues on-site are key skills that help Assistant Contractors succeed in a dynamic work environment.

Home Health Physical Therapist Assistant

Suru In-Home Physical Therapy

Perris, CA • On-site

Job description

About the Role

Suru provides outpatient physical therapy in patients' homes. This is different from traditional home health: clinicians typically have more visits with each patient, more flexibility in visit frequency, and longer, more consistent treatment relationships. We can also help clinicians build caseloads up to 10 larger by transitioning qualified patients who have completed home-health therapy into outpatient therapy at home.

You can accept or decline individual patients based on your location and availability. You decide how long a case fits your schedule, and you maintain flexibility in scheduling and delivering care.

Suru handles patient intake and billing. Documentation can be submitted through a short voice recording and usually takes about one minute per visit. Eligible submitted visits can be reviewed and payout requested through the Suru app.

Responsibilities
  • Provide treatment under the patient's plan of care and supervising physical therapist.
  • Communicate meaningful changes in the patient's condition.
  • Complete timely visit documentation.
  • Coordinate professionally with patients, families, and the care team.
Requirements
  • Current California Physical Therapist Assistant license.
  • Business license appropriate for independent clinical practice.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to patients.
  • Smartphone access for scheduling, documentation, and case management.

This is a 1099 independent-contractor opportunity.
