About The Role

HUB International continues to grow, and we are seeking a motivated Commercial Account Assistant to support our Construction Practice. This role is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at managing multiple priorities, and is committed to delivering exceptional client service.

Working closely with Account Managers, Producers, insurers, and construction clients, you will play a key role in supporting the service and retention of a diverse portfolio of construction accounts, including contractors, developers, project owners, and specialty trades. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to deepen their expertise in construction insurance and contribute to a growing and dynamic practice.

What You'll Do

  • Provide prompt, professional service to clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and issue confirmations of coverage, binders, and renewal packages.
  • Process policy changes, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations accurately and efficiently.
  • Support the ongoing service and retention of a portfolio of construction clients, including contractors, developers, and specialty trades.
  • Assist with project-specific insurance requirements and contractual insurance requests.
  • Coordinate with insurance markets to obtain coverage information, documentation, and policy amendments.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and assist with premium collection activities.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation within EPIC and other internal systems.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and insurer partners to support long-term account success.

Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success

  • RIBO Licensed an asset
  • Better have 1-2 years of commercial insurance experience in a brokerage or underwriting environment.
  • Experience supporting commercial clients, preferably within construction, contracting, or real estate sectors.
  • Good understanding of commercial insurance products, including Commercial General Liability, Property, Auto, Auto and Umbrella Liability.
  • Experience preparing certificates of insurance and policy documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Client-focused with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; EPIC experience is considered an asset.
  • CIP designation, or progress toward obtaining a CIP, is considered an asset.

The compensation for this position is a variable compensation structure, i.e., base salary plus commission. As such, the total compensation earned will vary depending on the successful candidate's book of business at a particular time. The expected base salary for this position is $47,000 - $58,000. The total compensation will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses for some positions.
