Permit & Licensing Technician

Location: Ocala, FL

Schedule:8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday

Pay: $20.88/hr.


About the Role

Ad-Vance Talent Solutions is recruiting for a Permit & Licensing Technician to support a local government department. This position is a great fit for someone with strong customer service and administrative skills who is comfortable working with detailed applications, documentation, payments, and the public.

In this role, you’ll assist contractors and residents with building permits and contractor licensing while helping ensure applications meet established requirements.


What You’ll Do
  • Provide friendly, professional assistance in person, by phone, and online regarding permit requirements, processes, fees, and timelines
  • Assist contractors and the public with building permits and contractor licenses
  • Review and process permit and licensing applications
  • Perform accurate data entry and maintain permit records
  • Review applications for required information and documentation
  • Notify applicants of missing or deficient information and explain what is needed to move forward
  • Review corrected documentation and update system records
  • Calculate and verify permit-related fees
  • Collect payments, issue receipts, and perform daily audits of monies collected
  • Follow established Florida building codes, permitting regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, contractors, County employees, and other departments
  • Assist with additional departmental duties as assigned
  • Support the organization’s guiding principles and core values
