Job description

Administrative Support Assistant (Wildland Fire)

As an Administrative Support Assistant (Wildland Fire) your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Advise the supervisor on fire business management procedures regarding timekeeping, procurement, informal contracting, injury claims and compensation.
  • Provides administrative support in the use of automated wildland fire management information systems.
  • Prepare travel documents (e.g., authorizations and vouchers) in an automated travel system, and enter and/or validate time and attendance records in an automated payroll system.
  • Purchase supplies and equipment using simplified acquisition procedures through the DOI integrated charge card program.
  • Participate in the development and formulation of the budget(s) for multiple accounts with various sub-activities and/or funding sources.
