Summary: The Assistant Concessions Manager plays a critical role to assist the Concessions Manager in the day-to-day operations, customer service, and merchandising. The Assistant Concessions Manager will lead team members through the preparation, execution and close out of various venue sporting events. Responsibilities include team leadership, outstanding customer service, timely service, quick response to guest’s needs, proper food handling, product quality assurance, proper cash handling, product inventory controls, kitchen equipment maintenance, facility cleaning and sanitation, and safety duties.

Position Responsibilities:

  • *Motivate, lead, train, and instruct team members.
  • *Facilitate the highest standards in operational excellence in sales, product quality and facility appearance on a daily basis.
  • *Meet and exceed organizational goals through optimal utilization of personnel and resources.
  • *Responsible for driving sales, building revenue, opening, operating, and closing of the concessions operations. Ensure a consistent, quality experience for clientele. Prepares food and beverages following and maintaining health department standards.
  • *Responsible for overseeing and ensuring concessions cashiers are following proper cashing handling procedures. Issues cash registers, closes out cash registers and prepares deposits.
  • *Responsible for overseeing the cooking, cleaning, and product storage following and adhering to health department standards.
  • *Responsible for ensuring product availability, taking orders and serving concessions products, providing outstanding and timely customer service, upselling to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • *Responsible for product inventory controls and conducting product inventory.
  • *Responsible for overseeing the overall cleanliness of the complex including but not limited to: Concessions operations, customer seating areas, restrooms, and common areas of the park.
  • *Responsible for overseeing custodial duties – emptying trash, cleaning and restocking restrooms, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the sports park and facilities.
  • *Responds to incidents and contacts appropriate authorities; completes incident reports to Director.
  • Assist Events Manager as needed.
  • Performs all responsibilities of Sports Events Aide as needed.
  • Responsible for adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.
  • Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • One (1) years previous experience in food and customer services
  • Experience leading a team and opening/closing venues, locations or assigned areas
  • Experience with cash handling protocols

License and Credentials:

  • Reliable transportation
  • Food Safety Manager Certification preferred or ability to obtain one within 30 days.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of and the ability to operate a cash register/point of sales system while following established cash handling protocols
  • Knowledge of and the ability to prepare/serve food and drinks following Health Department Standards
  • Knowledge of and the ability to clean and sanitize facilities and equipment to Health Department Standards
  • Knowledge of and the ability to safely operate restaurant equipment and appliances.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with the public and team members.
  • Ability to motivate, evaluate, and provide corrective action to employees.
  • Ability to supervise and lead team members toward in various objectives simultaneously.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team
  • Ability and flexibility in working varied shifts to accommodate adjustments needed or requested on staffing.
  • Must be able to work in indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a “can-do” attitude.
