What is a can monkey?

A Can Monkey is a slang term commonly used in the food and beverage industry to describe an entry-level worker responsible for stocking, cleaning, and restocking cans or other beverages in coolers and shelves. These employees typically ensure that products are properly rotated and displayed, maintain cleanliness in the beverage area, and assist with basic inventory tasks. While the term is informal, Can Monkeys play an essential role in keeping operations running smoothly, especially in busy bars, restaurants, or retail stores. This position is often a starting point for those looking to gain experience in the service industry.
