Job description

Winsert is seeking qualified candidates for a CMM Programmer / Quality Engineering Technician!

This vacancy will be located at a production machine shop that utilizes CNC equipment to support close tolerance and complex components. CNC equipment consists of horizontal milling, 5th axis milling, mill/turn and lathe styles ranging in capabilities.

This position assists in the administration of Winsert's Quality Management System and will focus heavily on CMM programming and measurement.

Pay: $30 - $33 per hour depending on experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Create measurement strategies utilizing CMM.
  • Assist APQP activities for all products in the prototype, pre-launch, and production phases of manufacturing.
  • Assist/perform MSA gauge studies, Process Capabilities Studies, PPAP assignments.
  • Prepare customer layouts (ballooning prints amp; preparing folders).
  • Assist new product development and prototype activities.
  • Assist with calibrating gauging systems.
  • Collaborate with production to interpret results and make meaningful process adjustments.
  • Identify customer / production needs and prioritize workload accordingly.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with corrective action activities for both internal and external customers.
  • Assist with scrap reduction activities.
  • Investigate alternative methods of gauging for the new demands on tighter tolerances.
  • Assist with product final inspections and other measurement needs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Exercise good time management, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, CMM software, and ERP systems.
  • Math skills (conversions, geometry, amp; general).
  • Blueprint interpretation.
  • GD amp; T interpretation.
  • Comprehension of industry standards (i.e. DIN, ISO, ASTM)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to actively move through production space to work with staff.
  • Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen.
  • Hearing must be correctable to allow understanding of instructions and communication with others.
  • Mobility and coordination must allow for required tasks to be performed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical degree in quality/engineering or equivalent ASQ Certification preferred.
  • CMM programming experience required.
  • Background in quality management systems preferred.
