Part-Time Sales Associate & Cashier Job Description

Position Summary

The primary responsibilities of the Sales Associate & Cashier position are to provide outstanding customer service, process transactions accurately, assist with merchandising, and support the store management team. This position requires availability for closing shifts (store closes at 7 PM) and working every other weekend.

Major Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Delivering exceptional customer service by following the S.A.L.E.S process and meeting mystery shop standards.
  • Operating the cash register accurately and efficiently, processing all transactions with care.
  • Maintaining awareness of promotions, advertisements, and Ace Rewards program benefits to inform and assist customers.
  • Assisting with restocking, organizing, and maintaining merchandise and store cleanliness standards.
  • Participating in team meetings, daily huddles, and contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of the store by being vigilant about shoplifting activity and maintaining a safe workspace.
  • Supporting the team with receiving and processing new shipments and keeping the back stock area organized.
  • Aiding customers in locating merchandise in-store and online and assisting with special orders.
  • Encouraging customers to sign up for the Ace Rewards program.

Minimum Requirements

Education/Training:

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Willingness to learn about hardware products and services.

Experience:

  • Retail experience preferred, especially in customer service or cashier roles.
  • Sales and marketing experience is a plus.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Basic computer skills, including experience with retail systems (knowledge of MS Word and Excel is a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational ability, attention to detail, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds regularly to assist customers and restock merchandise.
  • Must be able to move and handle boxes of merchandise throughout the store.

Additional Details

  • This is a part-time position with required availability for every other weekend and closing shifts (store closes at 7 PM).
